This is the first draft of the National Forestry Stewardship Standards (NFSS) for Uganda for responsible forest management and forest certification in Uganda as endorsed by the Standards Development Group in Uganda.

This document has been uploaded for consultations and further inputs by stakeholders and interest groups.

Support its dissemination to other stakeholders, interest groups and the general public by uploading it on your institutional websites and online email platforms as may be appropriate.

Subsequent major steps on this initiative include:

  • Forest testing of the first draft NFSS;
  • Integration of comments from stakeholders/interest groups and forest testing into the second draft, which will be submitted to the Forest Stewardship Council for final consideration and approval by end of February 2016
